Part of me is loving this time off to reflect; learn, observe, focus on thy self, and oddly I seem to becoming less of an introvert and reaching out to friends more often than I usually would, which is great. I think it’s because for once, they’re forced to kind of become introverts as well, which makes us closer and able to relate more, are any other introverts out there finding the same to be true 😂?

Part of me though, is missing the hustle, the grind, the stress and angst of my prior work/train life. The travel, the freedom to pick up and go wherever I want to; to the ocean, to the mountains, booking a random race, etc. I had a whole line up of travel now through June. This past weekend I’d be coming back from Colorado skiing 🎿, next weekend would’ve been Sacramento for my babes 30th 🎈, then ITU Bermuda with my parents 🚴🏼‍♀️, a conference in Cancun 💼, followed by a 70.3 in Cancun 🥇, then Hawaii for my 31st 🌴. All are cancelled 🙅🏼‍♀️.

In the meantime, I’m reminiscing on recent trips, like Lake Louise a couple weeks ago, Utah a couple weeks before that and AZ a few weeks before that. Memories are everything, and important to cling to in moments like these 🤍 .

I don’t know whether to talk about change, perseverance, creativity, loneliness, escape, depression, the future, the unknown, or the now. Either way, I’m trying to find the beauty and flow in each one of those things. In change comes anew, in perseverance comes strength, in creativity comes power, in loneliness comes self love, in escape comes new perspective, in depression comes best case scenarios, in the future comes surprises, in the unknown comes introspective thought, in the now comes... whatever you make of it. 🌱
The now. Not one human on this planet can predict the future right now. But right now, we can do what we can do to find the purity, the happiness, and perhaps all of the above... and churn them into incredible actions to make “the now” that much more powerful.
Don’t know about you, but I’m spending a lot of time alone; equal parts hating that I did not achieve or do or am the things I wanted to be, and the other half finding the extreme hopefulness, dedication and serenity, in whatever it is that brings me joy. Nature and training are the only things that bring me those things right now, and the elements of those two things have allowed me to explore whole new intricacies of joy.
Hey, it’s all good. One day at a time 🌼

Memories are what make life so so sweet 🍭. I decided to take a solo journey 6 hours from Kamloops to experience a place that I might never have the chance to visit again. Seize the day, right!?

Every morning I’d open my balcony doors to this desolate, wild, and quiet nature along with 5ft packed snow at the @lakelouiseinn ❄️. I didn’t know it at the time, but this experience would be the last for awhile, with regards to having a taste of my own “freedom”. Not like I can book a ticket to anywhere right now. And travel has always been my freedom and solace 💫. So many unknowns right now; lockdowns, quarantines... surely I can’t be the only one holding on to precious moments and memories to keep me mentally strong? ✨

I love you all. What is the one thing you want to do or place you want to travel to once things cool down? 🚀 Space doesn’t have COVID-19 yet right? 😁👌🏽

Sending everyone so much love and a BISOU 😘🇨🇦💛 (hope that’s right, I only know Spanish 😂. Wanted to say “besos”). I know it’s very irresponsible to travel in times like these... but a week ago, we weren’t aware that it was. Things are progressing quickly 🦠, and with each day, as humans, we’re learning something new with regards to the future and safety of our species and the world as a whole 🌎. I’m so grateful and honored to have been chosen to speak at TRU in Kamloops, and since I’d never been to BC, I’d planned to visit Lake Louise (my middle name ) in the days following my speaking engagement 🍁. I’ve just arrived back home in LA, but I still want to share my incredible experience with you ♥️. • • •
Amidst the chaos and uncertainty, in nature... lies serenity. You guys know that when I’m depressed or anxious, I always turn to nature above all else ⚡️. Well, especially given all the uncertainties in these current times, desolate wilderness is, in my opinion, just about the only place we can find true solace 🧘🏼‍♀️. I’ve come full circle to my primary educational roots of meditation, and efforts of living off the land. Sounds weird, but my brother and I were homeschooled as kids. We learned how to find peace and solace in nature, and how to live off of it. I’m grateful with regards to how my parents raised us. In times like these, we don’t freak out out of fear (not to say that’s wrong or bad!), but we’re confident in our own survival and acceptance of death. I talk about it all the time, guys. Impermanence. As humans, since we naturally don’t want to die, let us find peace in the things that bring tad bits of happiness in life; like nature 🌲. • • •

Over the past five years, I’ve spoken to over 16,000 university students and professionals around the world 🌍, but I honestly don’t remember the last time I was THIS EXCITED to speak in a room filled with 500+ people. First of all, thank you to the students at @truworld who chose me as their keynote speaker for iDays (🙉!), and secondly, thank you to the iDays staff and coordinators for making this happen especially given the current international circumstances (🦠). Your hospitality was incredible. I’m half Canadian and Canada was the first country I’d ever traveled to since it’s where my mom is from, but I’d never been to BC and it had always been a dream of mine to visit one day 🇨🇦🏔. Kamloops is an incredible community. Thank you Jeff at Radio NL for having me on 🎙 and to Delta Marriott for your incredible hospitality towards @mrkishmere and I 😻.

I so very much missed the loving and humble people of Canada that I always remembered growing up and visiting so often. This trip has had zero negativity and zero problems, I’ve met so many new fascinating friends (as has Kish!), it’s been unreal, and has made me so happy 😁. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Keeping my eyes to the sky 🌞 and feet planted on the ground 🌾. The last time I had a breakthrough was two years ago when I wrote my book and worked hard for months to get it published. I’ve been in a null since. And hearing the tragic news of Kobe and his daughter as well as the seven other passengers that perished a little over a week ago just 15 minutes from my house, provoked a lot of deep thinking and inner realization about life and death... as if I don’t think about that stuff enough every day as is. I’m excited for this newfound breakthrough, something big that I hope to share with you later in the year. ⚡️ But for now, I’ll leave you with my life mantra; Utilize fear as fire to fuel you inner embers in order to achieve the things you never deemed possible for yourself. It's important to dig deep and realize you might never have the chance other than this very moment, right now, to achieve the goals you set for yourself. Bodies grow old, priorities change, but 110% commitment, ultimate perseverance and not listening to others who tell you 'no', will get you to where you want to be. 🔥
